Find the Right USA College or University at which to Study
- How to find the best US college or university for you, as an international student studying in USA
The internet is an excellent resource for international students looking to gather information about US colleges and universities where they might want to apply for study. Any USA college or university you are considering is probably on the web, and a wealth of information should be available at their sites. There are also many internet sites that can help you search for colleges and universities in the United States by various criteria, such as geography or cost.
While your goal is to identify several schools where you want to apply, be sure to investigate your colleges / universities of interest thoroughly (for some ideas, see International Student Orientation for Foreign Students in USA). Remember: you may have to spend up to four years of your life at that school. You will want to ask any college / university you are interested in to send you a school brochure with a list of classes offered, in addition to the enrollment (application) materials and information on scholarships and financial aid for international students.
You should also be sure to investigate specialized resources available in your own country to help you (see US Educational Advising Centers in Your Country: Study in USA).
Below are some websites that can help you find plenty of information about how to get into the college or university of your choice (these and even more links are listed in Additional Sources of Information for International Students: Scholarships, Financial Aid, and More).
